Alexi Saldamando, LCSW-R

About Me

As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), I meet clients wherever they are in their lives, and always consider their strengths just as much as their difficulties. My therapeutic style blends a cognitive-behavioral approach of identifying and changing thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, along with mindfulness and acceptance of one's self. I believe in balancing an exploration of what is not working with what is working for a person.

Originally from California, I have a B.A. in Psychology from Stanford University and a M.S.W. (Master's in Social Welfare) from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). I have a decade of experience providing individual, couples, crisis, and group therapy to a wide variety of people. Most recently I worked at the Park Slope Center for Mental Health, providing individual and couples therapy, as well as supervision to other therapists. Previously, I was as a therapist in the San Francisco Bay Area, working in a partial hospitalization program, residential substance abuse treatment, and community mental health program serving young adults with psychosis. I have also volunteered for several crisis lines.

As someone who firmly believes in maintaining a work-life balance (and practicing what I preach), I regularly practice yoga and meditation, and enjoy spending time outdoors and traveling.
